Former DNC Chair, Don Fowler making light of Gustav...
I don't like commenting on politics, but this makes me want to vomit.

Wow. There are certainly less than stellar human beings who hold to both Democrat as well as Republican ideologies. This is a pitiful example of the former. Our prayer this morning was that God would cause Gustav to dissipate and weaken so that there was no damage or loss of life. God is able, and He will act as we pray.
I was pretty astounded myself at his comment, but also at the fact that the passenger in front of him on the plane was surreptiously recording his conversation with his fellow passenger. Very 'big brother'-ish.
I mean, I wouldn't know who this man was if he jumped up and bit me; so, what on earth made the passenger in front of him decide to start recording his conversation.
Now, that does not excuse his statement, which likely was a very poor attempt at humor; however, we all know that humor always has a kernel of truth in it somewhere for the teller. Sad and strange.
Having a brother and SIL in the direct path of this storm - I know God is less concerned with political parties this morning, and more concerned with the people in the path of the storm. It's unfortunate that not all human beings are.
I don't condone what he said, but my hunch is he was saying this "tongue in cheek" as a sarcastic response to things certain televangelists touting the Republican party as God's side of the political spectrum have said in the past.

Both are wrong.
