Sunday Blitz
> This morning was very strange. The first gathering was very mellow, which is somewhat normal. But the second gathering is always more awake, except for today. Maybe it was the few Christmas songs.
> My dad and I are watching "Troy"...definitely one of my favorite movies. Awesome fight scenes.
> The Skins are pitiful. I love Joe Gibbs, but what a bone-head.
> It's so nice to have the secret of Tricia's pregnancy out. It's even nicer to have a church family who loves us.
> The Christmas Communion Gathering tonight was crazy. About 200 people came, about 50 more than we've ever had. I love our church!
> I also love leading musical worship at our communion gatherings...we usually go a little more acoustic, so the sound is different than normal, which is fun for us musician types.
> The Ornament Video went over well with the ladies in the know. Ladies like cheese.
> The food tonight was excellent. I always miss out though, because I never eat much 'cause I'm always singing.
> I love worshipping with Christmas music!
> We're hitting some tough stuff on Sunday mornings recently. I pray we're putting it into practice.
> Did I mention my wife is pregnant?
That's all for now.

Sean Taylor
Whether you're a Skins fan or not, whether you're a football fan or not, please, take a moment to pray for Sean Taylor's family and friends. Also, pray that coach Joe Gibbs and the other Christians in the Skins organization will take the opportunity to share the hope and peace of Christ. Thanks.

> Another LONG weekend...I've been single all week because Tricia's been in the hospital...I'm very glad I got married if for no other reason than it makes me not work as much as I would if I were still single all the time.
> the MilePost13 Band rocks! We practiced again tonight...they're putting in so much time right now getting ready for our Thanksgiving Worship Gathering and for the Festival of Trees.
> Buddy is sick. He's one of our electric guitarists, and a good friend. Pray that he's feeling better so he can work, enjoy the holiday this week, and play with us on Wednesday.
> This morning was weird. The first gathering never really felt like it got any momentum. It was packed with people, but I just never felt like we connected. The second gathering seemed to click from the start.
> Have I mentioned how stoked I am about the Thanksgiving Gathering and the Festival of Trees?
> The Skins lost again...luckily I didn't get to see any of the game.
> I hope Barry Bonds goes to prison, if he is indeed guilty (and doesn't anybody still question that?), and I hope his name and records get erased forever from baseball. Sorry.
> My dog, Meka is the coolest ever. She hung out with us at practice tonight (yes, I take my dog to church all the time). I've had her for about a year now, which is why I mention her.

> Tricia doesn't remember where she packed my razor, so I haven't shaved in about three weeks, including my neck...that's bascially a record for my neck. I probably looked a little scary on stage today.
> Andy did a great job filling in on drums for Chris who hurt his back earlier this week.
> Our Christmas music is going to rock the house and bless God and His people this year...we're really stoked.
> We baptized two people today...one young lady who discovered life in Christ for the first time just last Sunday, and a little girl who was baptized by her father. We use the YMCA pool in the cold months.
> I shot a video with a local guy named Chris on Saturday...we're going to show Chris' story on Wednesday night. I'm really happy with the video...it's the best I've done so far. I'll post it after Wednesday.
> I've been addicted to Sarah McLachlan's "Wintersong" album the past week. We bought it last year just before Christmas, so I didn't listen to it much then. It's very beautiful, very laid back Christmas music. Pick it up if you can.
That's all for now.

Sunday Blitz
This is going to be short...it's been a long, long weekend...
> Tricia and I moved (thanks to a little help from my friends) on Friday...as in, all day Friday.
> I taught our Discovering Worship CLASS yesterday morning.
> I tried to get two days worth of work into yesterday afternoon.
> I got up at 4:45 this morning to hang with some of our people as we gave cold water to the participants of the OBX Marathon.
> Got together with the MilePost13 band tonight to practice some Christmas music.
> It was all worth it, and I'm glad it's over
> We had one worship gathering this morning to keep from repeating the headache of fighting the crazy traffic patterns that take place during the marathon. It's fun to have so many people singing and worshipping together.
> We showed a killer video that I'll post later this week. You might not think it's killer, but we do.
> At least one person discovered life in Christ for the first time this morning.
> The Skins lost to the eagels.
> I get to see my good friend, Matt Glock tomorrow morning!

> Go Skins!
> This morning was very cool. We talked about finding your mission, showed videos of Operation Christmas Child, ToT, and several other things.
> We also had a commissioning service today. Last week, we asked everyone to come to church wearing their "work" clothes, and at the end of our gatherings this morning, we commissioned everyone to GO and be missionaries in their work places, schools, etc. Very cool.
> We had a few people say it was our best worship gathering ever, which is good to hear considering the weight of what we were talking about.
> Here's a video about our Kid's Church that we showed at CREST last Sunday night...kids say funny stuff!
> Be right back...we're packing and I've been asked to put some boxes together...Tricia's a beast when it comes to packing.
> Which reminds me...if anyone can help us pack and move our stuff to storage this Friday afternoon, let me know!
> Our communion gathering tonight was great as always. We feasted on thanksgiving food (yeah, that was awesome), and we remembered what God has done and is doing for us. Our communion gatherings have been taken to a totally new level in our new building!
> Still thinking a lot about our trip to Forefront. A lot of people have asked about it, and our pastor even talked about it this morning in his sermon.
> The MIlePost13 Band (our worship band) has been invited to participate in the local Festival of Trees at the end of November. We'll be playing Christmas music for an hour...it's a great opportunity to build a bridge to our community. We're stoked!
> We had at least one family come this morning for the first time because of Trunk or Treat! Make sure you check out all of the ToT Pics.
> We've got just ONE gathering next Sunday at 11. Come out early and me on mission as we serve those participating in the OBX Marathon!
> There's lots more I could talk about, but it can wait until next time. That's all for now.

> So, I taught for the first time ever on a Sunday morning today. I feel very good about it. Thanks to those who took the time to not just tell me "good job" but to give me some honest feedback!
> Here's the video I used to set it all up today...my message was titled "Worship: It's That Important"
> Totally caught Chris (our drummer) by surprise when I showed a clip during our worship gatherings from his MTV music video from 27 years ago. :D I'll post it on youtube ASAP cause it's flippin sweet!
> Skins just won!
> I've got a headache...not enough water last night/this morning combined with the extra energy I lost by leading worship and teaching.
> Our band rocks! They sat up on stage for the entirety of both gatherings, staring at the back of my head...
> We are so stoked about TRUNKorTREAT! It's going to be our biggest local outreach event ever!
> Nothing better than a baseball game 7 in late October! Can the BoSox do it again?
> My bro-in-law, Ramon totally came through this morning by hanging out on the stage with us and reading all of the Scripture I used during my teaching time. Gave it a very fresh and narative feel...thanks, dude!
> I'll post some stuff from my message today later in the week for some discussion time. Thanks to all who participated in the Personal Preferences Discussion! I used some of your thoughts today.
> Thanks to all of our church family who have been making us care packages for our travels back and forth to Durham. We love you all!
> Peace out!

Sunday Blitz
(I'm writing this on Monday morning, but I'll pretend like it's still Sunday...)
> We showed two of our ToT Commercials this morning...they were big hits. Hopefully their helping to create even more buzz about ToT.
> Today's gatherings were all about (Love Is) More Than A Feeling. Good stuff.
> The kids were going crazy in the second gathering. From the auditorium, it sounded like they were on a roller coaster...that's awesome!
> Had lunch with my parents and sister, Sarah and bro-in-law, Terry...it's his birthday tomorrow. He's really old.
> The Skins looked horrible (I only watched the 4th quarter), but the cowgirls lost, so it was an OK day.
> The Rockies are freaking unbelievable...seriously, to think about what they've done over the past 20 games is mind-blowing. They are going to the WS and are going to be hard to beat by anyone.
> Our future office space/present Kid's Church area is almost complete. The only major thing left to do is install the drop ceiling. Did I mention the Kids were crazy today?
> The band may have a real "green room" within the next few weeks, which would really be sweet!
> I saw several new faces yesterday, and got to talk with a young couple named Melissa and Bryan (I think that's right) who were checking us out for the first time. She gave me a hug after the gathering 'cause she was so stoked about finding us!
> I am finalizing my ToT costume this week. Here's a hint: I'm going to be a superhero, and I'm growing my hair and facial hair out for it...

> "My Savior My God" by Aaron Shust has become one of our favorite songs to sing...
> I have to go now.

Almost a Perfect Sports Night
For a few minutes, I thought both the yankees and Cowgirls were going to lose BIG on the same night within just a few minutes of each other...
That would have been perfect...

Sunday Blitz
> Our communion gatherings the past three months have been most excellent. It's so cool to have everyone set up around tables in the worship center for both communion/worship and the fellowship meal.
> I can't say enough about our band and tech teams and they're ability and willingness to be so prepared for our worship gatherings even when I'm gone for most of the week! It's great to know that it doesn't depend on me!
> I signed up for Google Reader and Google Analytics this week. (I realize this is probably nothing new to you, but...) Google Reader allows me to keep track of the blogs I read a whole lot easier, and Analytics keeps good stats on who's checking me out. I had a guest from Iran check me out this week... :)
> We simplified things tonight, musically...just me, Josh on bass and Chris on drums. It was a cool, mellow groove. And, it's so cool to be able to play with musicians who can do stuff on the fly.
> I love October baseball! The phillies are going home where they belong - Great! The Cubs are waiting 'til next year again - bad! The Sox move on - good! The Yankees are probably going home - GREAT! I think the Sox are on their way to another championship, which is cool with me. I just wish there wasn't so many brooms...
> I think almost every person in the building tonight had their hands raised and their voices singing "Jesus Paid It All" tonight...that was very cool.
> Skins win again! I didn't get to watch a single minute of the game (or any other game for that matter), but that's cool.
> God is good. He continues to provide for our needs during Our Transition, and from the most unexpected places (which is how He likes to do things, I'm coming to learn).
> Got to hang with my family tonight after our communion gathering. It's super cool that both of my sisters are married to Godly guys and that everyone lives here int town. (It's cool that the out-laws live close by too.)
> I'm putting some thoughts and ideas together for Oct. 21 when I'll be leading our worship gatherings and talking about worship.
> Trunk or Treat is going to be lots of fun. We're thinking we may attract well above our goal of 600. It's not too late to plan your own ToT event! I'm stoked about my costume and trunk!
> My voice and guitar skills are suffering from missing Thursday night practices...I was actually losing my voice this morning, and I wasn't even singing that much.
> I have to head out to Durham again tomorrow, so I'm heading to bed. Later.
